Last weekend, we were honored to welcome project guest and author of "FlyGirls" Keith O'Brien. Shot onsite at Atchison's own "Walls of Books" Keith spoke with us at length about the famous 1929 Power Puff Derby, Amelia Earhart's life, legacy and impact in the 21st century and why he believes that Amelia would be saddened by the state of women in aviation in 2018.
We were also honored to be on hand as the Atchison Amelia Earhart Foundation welcomed Keith to the Amelia Earhart Airport Museum to speak about FlyGirls. With the backdrop of Muriel; the world's last remaining Lockheed Electra 10E and Amelia's 1932 Essex Terraplane behind him, Keith spoke elegantly about why Louise Thaden, Ruth Nichols, Ruth Elder, Florence Klingensmith and Amelia Earhart paved the way for women to break boundaries in aviation.
Enjoy some behind the scenes images from the afternoon of events and look for Keith in "Chasing Earhart" when the documentary drops!
